The story behind My Paradise

A dream that waited ten years.

When Dennis first arrived in Chiang Rai, he found a small piece of land surrounded by rice fields. He could not afford it. Ten years later—after building and selling a successful city guesthouse, and after becoming a single father—the land was still waiting.

What began as an empty rice field became a home built around family, nature and time. Every tree, every stone, every path and every building was chosen personally. My Paradise exists because two boys changed the meaning of success for their father.

Our small size is intentional. It allows personal attention, peace and space that large hotels simply cannot offer.

Breakfast, just for you

No two mornings are exactly the same.

Breakfast grew from missing the flavours of home: real bread, good butter, imported cheese and strong Western-style coffee. Today we bake sourdough for 48 hours, fresh pretzels, bagels, Sunday rolls and seasonal surprises.

We notice what guests enjoy. A family that prefers sweet flavours may find fresh croissants the next morning. An Arabic guest may receive warm flatbread and dips. Local fruit comes from neighbours whenever possible.

Breakfast is normally served between 9:00 and 11:00 and is planned the day before. Every morning begins with family; after taking the children to school, Dennis returns to prepare breakfast and help guests plan their day.

Nature is the real host

A living paradise—not a manicured stage.

We do not use pesticides. The natural fishpond, tropical garden and surrounding fields are habitats for birds, frogs, insects, squirrels and reptiles.

Morning wildlife

Kingfishers, egrets, cranes, storks and fishing eagles rise through the mist above the rice fields.

Gentle giants

Guests love observing and feeding our Alligator Gars, already around 1.20 m and still growing.

Natural pond

The pond is alive rather than chemically polished—home to fish, frogs, dragonflies and visiting birds.

Slow growth

My Paradise is designed for the next thirty years. Nature cannot be rushed; our job was simply to begin.

Your gateway to the real Chiang Rai.

My Paradise is intentionally outside the city—without rows of restaurants, nightlife or constant motor noise. Behind us begin pineapple fields, tea and coffee plantations, mountain roads and authentic Akha, Karen, Hmong and Chinese villages.

Yet the bypass is only about four kilometres away, giving easy access to Chiang Rai’s major attractions, the Golden Triangle and the Mekong.

Explore independently

We can arrange scooters, cars or private drivers. We also give honest advice: for example, a Grab from Chiang Rai Airport is usually far cheaper than a licensed private airport transfer. We will happily arrange the expensive option when needed—but we would rather you save your money for meaningful experiences.

Your request is personally checked.

Because My Paradise has only three accommodations, we combine simple technology with personal control. Your selected dates are provisionally held for 12 hours while Dennis verifies all calendars and special requirements.

Once approved, you receive payment instructions for bank transfer or PromptPay. This keeps the system affordable, transparent and independent from unnecessary monthly fees.

Private Paradise requests: when all accommodations are free, groups of approximately 8–15 guests can reserve the whole property exclusively.

Why is it called My Paradise?
